SPEAKING IN THE PROGRESSIVE TENSE

Here's a drill that would help you enhance your speaking skills with the use of the progressive tenses.

The Present Continuous

What to do:

1. Tell us who you are or what you do at the moment briefly.

2. Use the present progressive tense.

3. Take a video of yourself in 30 to 60 seconds only.

4. Submit video to Google Classroom. Please make sure the video is in mp4 format.

Hi, I'm Teacher Jeanille. And I am currently teaching at Asian College of Technology. I am teaching English subject for Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10. I am loving what I do.

The Past Continuous

What to do:

1. Tell us some experience you've had in the past which could have been interrupted by another action briefly.

2. Use the past progressive tense.

I am Teacher Jeanille. Aside from English, I also teach Dressmaking. I was gussying up for my class fashion shown when the pandemic broke. My students were sewing their sleep wears when the school president announced the suspension of classes.

The Future Continuous

Chamber Theater Script: Project Prototype

Here's how your next project should look like.

Guidelines:

Choose from the stories tackled in the first quarter.
Decide an event (from the story you have picked) you want to write a script for chamber theater.
Due date: February 15, 2018
Font style: Courier New
Font size: 12
Line spacing: 1.5
Margin: 1 inch
Paper size: 8.5 x 6.5 (half of a long bond paper)
Backgrounds must not overpower the text thus make sure clarity is not sacrificed.
The last page must be the printout of the rubrics.

TITLE PAGE

There should be nothing else to be written on the title page but only what you see below: Title of the narrative, author, scriptwriter.
Format for writing the scriptwriter's name must be as shown below.

THE CHARACTERS

Follow the format below on how to write descriptions for your characters.
The characters' names must be written in bold.

THE DIALOGUE

The character's name must be written in bold, center format alignment then colon.
The dialogue must be in left alignment format.

RUBRICS

This must be printed and thus should be the last page of this project.

This is the first installment for the task "SHORT FILMS FEST 2018", the SCRIPT BOOKLET. Please bear in mind that the sample script below is not for films hence merely written for a comical skit. Therefore, your script is expected to be longer.

Guidelines

Paper size: 8.5 x 6.5 ( half of a long bond paper)
Font size: Courier New 12
The script booklet must be BOUND (soft or hard).
Please always put to mind that when you choose a background it must not sacrifice the clarity of the text.
Choose only one background for everything except for the title page.
The draft or your first printout is due on February 21, 2018 and the final output is due on March 2, 2018.

TITLE PAGE

THE CHARACTERS

The characters must be well described without spoiling the story.
There is no need to mention the physical descriptions and age since these are mentioned in the "setting".
After the written descriptions the following pages must contain photos of the MAIN characters. That is one page per character. However, the MINOR characters MAY be put in one page altogether.

THE SCRIPT

Here goes the script and its componenets

Scene Number - this changes every time the SET (setting) changes.
Setting - you must have already learned this as our prior lesson. Make sure you are plainly painting and does not make the characters move yet. This must be in a justify alignment format.
Character - Write the character's name atop the dialogue. Write the character's name in all capital letters in center alignment format.
Directions - This gives the characters instructions as to what to do. This must be in Italic and in justify alignment format.
Page Number - must be written in the bottom right corner.

AFTER THE SCRIPT INCLUSIONS

List of cast, the staff, and everyone involved in the production. Always specify designations or tasks.
Printout of the rubrics for grading the project.
Printout of the film poster.

PROJECT TIMETABLE

The second to the last page must be the project timetable.

This page is optional.
Page 7 could either be a news page or a continuation of your FEATURE page.

SPORTS PAGE

GUIDELINES:

There must be 8 pages.
Make sure photos are NOT distorted. Enlarge or reduce diagonally.
Headlines must be TAHOMA at least 26pt
Articles must TIMES NEW ROMAN, size refer to guidelines per page.
All articles must be equally divided to 4 COLUMNS.
Be mindful of WHITE SPACES ( empty spaces).
Use short bond paper and make sure the print goes back to back. Set the margin to .5 all sides.
DRAFT IS DUE ON FEBRUARY 9, 2018 (Friday).
FINAL OUTPUT IS DUE ON FEBRUARY 19, 2018 (Monday).

REMINDERS:

Draft must be passed on or before January 30, 2018 (Tuesday).
